Today Carle Foundation Hospital, the YMCA’s partner in a new project, pulled out of the deal to build a new center near Windsor and Staley Rd.

That leaves one nagging question for the YMCA: Can it still build on the site it expected?

Carle was going to donate the land to the project, and it says that's still going to happen.  The YMCA isn't so sure though.

The site was supposed to become a $14 million dollar complex with a Carle facility on site. The two were sharing costs, but Carle says it can't afford to help build the facility and run its portion. Now the YMCA is stuck trying to figure out how to move forward alone.

Director Wade Hampton says they will and they really have to the current facility is 70-years-old and it’s falling apart. Hampton says he's yet to meet with his board to see where the YMCA goes from here, but he says he's keeping his eye on the prize, the new location.
