Teens may face tougher rules on the road..and although they may not like these new proposals..lawmakers say the new restrictions.. will save lives. Teen drivers may want to pay closer attention to the rules of the road..after state lawmakers passed several bills..to tighten teen driving laws. The new measures would make it tougher for teens to get and keep their drivers license..and under the proposed laws..teen drivers would be required to have an earlier curfew..more behind the wheel training..and parents will be able to get a glimpse of their childs driving record..online. Parent Andre Bledsoe says "anything that can help keep your kids safe you know..with all this underage drinking and driving I think its wonderful." Teen driver Rachel Havey says shes never received a driving ticket..but says she has lots of friends..whove hidden them from their parents..and they dont want parents to use the web..to check up on them. Havey said one of her friends was going through a stop sign and "a cop came up and asked her you know why are you going so fast.. and she was like well I always go fast..kinda stupid answer..but she just didnt want to tell her mom."Many teens may not see eye to eye with the proposed changes..but lawmakers say its about saving lives. Secretary of State Jesse White says "the greatest cause for lose of life for young drivers from the age of 15 to 20 is automobile crashes and we want to make sure we can get a handle on that by making sure parents are involved with that equation." If the Governor signs the legislation itll go into effect next January.
