breaking news
A threat at Urbana Middle School had the building on lockdown, making this the fifth threat in the area.
Staff members found a message warning of violence similar to Virginia Tech around 2 p.m. They say there is no way of knowing if its a copycat message or if its real.
Administrators took it seriously and put the school on lockdown after finding the threat and police started searching the building from top to bottom.
The kids went home on time today but administrators say they should get used to seeing security around. In the meantime, the phone is ringing off the hooks in the school with concerned parents calling for answers.
Some we spoke to say its becoming harder and harder to know when to take this seriously.
School administrators say theyll continue to send letters to parents to keep them updated on the investigation.
