Manhunt for Shooting Suspect
Updated: May 11, 2007
Police are looking for the man shown on the right. They say 30-year-old Tony Mann shot 20-year-old Robert Moore in the back. It happened across the street from King elementary school around 2 yesterday afternoon.Urbana police believe the shooting spurred from an argument between the two last week. Witnesses say the two starting fighting about it yesterday, when police say Mann pulled out a gun and shot Moore.
"There was some sort of argument, disagreement late last week, and at this time we believe the shooting is a spillover on what happened," says Lt. Bryant Seraphin of the Urbana Police Department.
Police feel this is not gang or drug-related. Although they do get some drug calls in the area they feel the only reason why it happened there was because of the people.
Neighbors are pushing the city to close the mini-park where the shooting happened. They say it's giving people a place to hang out until the early morning. They say it's causing a nuisance. A petition is going around in hopes to convince the city to close the area.
Police say Moore is in fair condition tonight at Carle Hospital. Any tips on Mann's whereabouts, you're asked to call Urbana Police.
