Urbana Police are investigating a shooting that happened right across the street from an elementary school. It happened near Martin Luther King Wednesday afternoon. The school is about 100 feet from where the shooting happened. The principal says they heard the shots from inside and immediately went on lockdown. Police also informed the school of the incident as they made their way to the scene. They're still investigating what took place. They say there was a fight in front of these houses. Witnesses say one of the men in the fight went to a car, got a gun, and shot another man who was taken to Carle Hospital. Police say during the whole incident children at the school were safe. Police are still looking for the gunman. No word on the victim's condition.
