Welcome to my blog

I'll start...most days I love my job. I love being able to find out the story and I want to be the first person you hear it from. But last week, reporting on the shootings at Virginia Tech was just heartbreaking. And then to have a young person from Centennial High School killed just drove home the fact of how senseless it all was. These were people who had or who were going to have an impact on society. They were world-renowned professors and students who wanted to change the world, like Austin.
It seemed everyday was sadder than the last. I thought of some of my friends who tell me they can’t watch the news because it’s too much. Some days it was too much.
But then I think of my new friend. He’s different from the other kids at school and doesn’t have many friends. But I did a story about something amazing he did. His mom told me, the day after it aired, he was a superstar at school. People wanted his autograph. Someone invited him over to play. He was truly happy.
I cried when I heard that. And it made me love my job all over again.
Now it's your turn. Click here to start the conversation.
