Wapella Business Fire
Updated: April 22, 2007
WAPELLA - Firefighters from eight communities were called in to help put out a fire at a DeWitt County business Sunday morning. It broke out around eleven at RJ Holland Plumbing in Wapella. When firefighters arrived on the scene flames could been seen shooting from the building. Right now they're not sure how it started, but putting out the fire was a challenge with combustible material inside fueling it.
Firefighters say it could have been a lot worse. The fire department is located right next door to the business. Chief Gene Welch says it suffered some minor damage that will have to be repaired.
