PhillipsHOOPESTON - A 19-year-old from Hoopeston could make history if elected to a spot on the city council.

Nathan Phillips is running for aldermen in the April 17th general election against an incumbent in Ward 2. Phillips says he wants to change the way the city is run and hopes everyone can work together to make the town grow. He says he originally had bigger goals, but decided to settle on a chance to become a city council member.

Phillips believes he'll be the youngest aldermen in U.S. history if elected. He says his dad and mom are behind him and his step father already serves on the council.
