Neighbors in Vermilion County say they're tired of looking at an eyesore in their backyard. people in rural Danville say they're getting nowhere when it comes to cleaning up abandoned trailers behind their home. now the county says somebody's going to pay up. Lori McBride's lived in the same house for more than 20 years and says she barely recognizes the view out her back door. She says, “ The guys that were coming out here and working said they would be done by the end of March and as you know this is the end of March and my patience is gone.” Now the Vermilion County Health Department and the State's Attorney's office are stepping in to make sure the problem gets taken care of. Environmental Safety employee, Kolby Riggle says the run down homes create a major safety issue. “[It brings] vermin, rats, and flies. It also makes an attractive nuisance for children to play in and get hurt. The owner is due back in court next month. If found guilty of the ordinance violation, he could get a per day fine, or time in jail.
