Grant to help women's center

CHAMPAIGN -- New grant money will help women who are homeless or victims of domestic abuse. More than $8,000 will go to the Center for Women in Transition to fund two 5-week programs.
They're aimed to help women feel empowered financially and career-wise. The programs will cover topics like budgeting and job hunting strategies. Group leaders say this will help women as they move toward safe, stable lives.
