SPRINGFIELD -- A bill to legalize medical marijuana is making progress at the capitol. It just passed out of a house committee, and now heads to the full house.

The proposal would allow doctors to prescribe marijuana to patients with specific medical conditions. They could then buy it through an authorized distributor.

Critics worry it could end up in the wrong hands. Supporters say that wouldn't happen. They say the treatment would be closely monitored.
