Regions Air Cancels Flights
Updated: March 9, 2007
DECATUR- Regions Air canceled flights from Decatur to Saint Louis for the second time in a week.A representative from Regions Air said it's a wording issue in its safety manual that has the FAA holding flights until it gets fixed. He says it's been in there for 11 years and is just now causing a problem.
Around 100 passengers fly Regions AIr every day to and from St. Louis. THis left an empty airport today as flights were canceled and will stay that was until at least Sunday.
Airport representatives say they aren't happy about the hold up. Bill Clevenger, the executive director of the Decatur Park District says, "This is a real significant issue for us and our expectations for Regions is that they live up to the terms of the contract that they're functioning under...Regions needs to provide the service we expect."
Regions Ar says it will contact you if your flight has been canceled and its doing the best it can to get passengers connected out of neighboring airports.
