CHICAGO-- A UIC employee is in trouble for bringing a gun to work. The Chicago Tribune reports that UIC researcher Kathleen Loviscek brought a gun she owns legally to work with her Tuesday.

A co-worker saw the weapon and called police. Authorities arrived about 4:30 pm and discovered she brought the gun, unloaded and in a case, because her home is being remodeled. UIC's placed her on administrative leave until further notice.
