We're still holding on to some of the lingering affects of the drought from this summer. The western half of Central Illinois, including Decatur and Springfield, remains "abnormally dry." This is the lowest level of the different drought categories. You can get more on the drought categories in our Weather 101 Section.
Looking ahead, the 8 to 14 day forecast has more rain in the forecast for us, though for this time of year, that's not much water.
