Bill Cubit said he has been given "free reigns" of Illinois offense, one of the nation's lowest scoring teams. Cubit comes from Western Michigan, where he was head coach for the past seven seasons. He expect to run the ball "downhill" more and will implement a more up-tempo style. Cubit replaces Chris Beatty while former co-offensive coordinator, Billy Gonzales, has been moved to wide receivers coach.
