CHATHAM -- A bus driver is getting recognized thanks to her quick thinking.

Driving can be pretty dangerous, but try doing it with 50 kids on board. It's something Holly Snell does everyday and takes very seriously. The bus driver's been at it for two years, and recently she had quite the scare.

"I truly that believe that if we hadn't both acted the way we both did. She would not be here with us today," said Snell.

It all started on the steps leading out from the bus. Shelbey Reynolds was getting ready to walk off, but Snell stopped her and quickly shut the doors. A driver was trying to speed past them, feet from where the sophomore was standing.

Reynolds and her family have been extremely thankful, so has the school district. They're calling Holly a hero, but she says she was just doing her job.

"I feel shocked that I was recognized. I was very blessed that I was, and I'm blessed that I was able to save her. But, it's everyday I want to protect the kids on my bus," she said.

She was able to get all of the driver's information. She says they're not sure whether he'll be ticketed, but did say he's been cited twice for speeding before.
