mug shotFive teens are caught .. one behind bars Wednesday .. accused of shooting out nearly 200 windows.. in cars.. homes and businesses. Thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip police say these teens won't be shooting up any neighborhoods soon. Springfield police arrested 17-year old Cameron Marquez and four juveniles last night for using a BB gun to shatter car windows and destroy window fronts. Fortunately no one was hurt. Neighborhoods along the north end spreading to the west ... were shot up for two straight weekends ... racking up more than 10's of thousands dollars in damages. One man says ...the teens shot at two of his cars ... one a rental. And the company said if the vandals weren't caught... he'd have to pay up. "I didn't know how I was going to pay for it. So I am glad they caught the guys so now they can go after them for it." said Brian Kirkham of Amos Avenue." And Crime Stoppers Coordinator Sarah Iaiennaro said, "Where the city is really terrorized. It's really important to have an outlet like crime stoppers where people can call give information anonymously. People want this city to be safe." Marquez has been charged with one count of conspiracy to criminal damage to property and three counts of criminal damage to property. All carry one to three years in prison. He'll make his first court appearance Thursday. For the juveniles ... they have been released to their parents. Since they are underage ... no word on what their punishment could be. Crime Stoppers says they got the tip from the teens bragging about what they did.
