CHAMPAIGN -- Unit 4 substitute teachers are getting a raise. The school board approved the measure Monday night.

District spokeswoman Stephanie Stuart says the changes for a full-day pay are as follows:

- Substitutes working less than 425 hours: $92 each day
- Substitutes working more than 425 hours: $100 each day
- Retired Unit 4 substitutes: $130 each day
- Long-term substitutes: $195 each day

The district says those numbers are based on a first-year teacher's salary.
