Dino Dawson leaves Illini footall program

Updated: February 26, 2007
Illinois football has an opening on its coaching staff as Illini assistant Dino Dawson has left the program. An Illini athletic department official has confirmed that Dawsons contract was not renewed following the 2006 football season. Dawson arrived at Illinois two years ago as a member of Ron Zooks original staff. Illinois passing game struggled last season, averaging just 156 yards a game, last in the Big Ten conference. A search for a replacement will begin soon.
