CHARLESTON -- There's more than meets the eye in this week's Our Town. Here's a preview of what Charleston has to offer.

If you want to know more about Our Town Charleston, just look around.

"Although Lincoln never lived here, his parents lived just south of town."

That's just one fun fact we learned about the Land of Lincoln. All from these murals.

"I think it actually helps beautify the town. Draws people in to see them from all over and it also captures the history of Charleston."

This week, you'll get a clear picture of that history as we tour the city. But, we're also getting in touch with those who are giving back.

"We don't have a lot of places that offer clothing and food."

It's only been around a few weeks, but the Community Center  Ministry is making a difference.

"We have everything donated and we utilize what most people think of as yard sale prices."

Find out why Dawn Thompson started this place, and her plans to change Charleston.

"Just a man who loves music and loves helping people who like to make music come together and play."

And, some things never change. This man has been an important part of the community band for many years.

"I'm very proud."

We'll tell you how he's battling an illness while still boogieing with the band. These stories and more all week long. Plus, we're live from Charleston during Friday's evening newscasts.
