This Day In Weather History

1961 - $7 million in damage was done when a tornado moved northeast across Chicago.  The tornado first touched down at 91st and Hoyne Streets and eventually moved on Lake Michigan.  3,000 homes were damaged and 9 major buildings had to be torn down.  One person was killed after being thrown against a building.  115 people were injured.
