Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - The Pacers and Warriors completed an eight-player trade Wednesday with Indiana sending Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington, Sarunas Jasikevicius and Josh Powell to Golden State in exchange for Troy Murphy, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Ike Diogu and Keith McLeod.
Harrington and Jackson were the second and third leading scorers, respectively, for the Pacers this season, trailing only All-Star Jermaine O`Neal. Harrington, a forward/center, averaged 15.9 points and 6.3 rebounds in 36 games for Indiana, while Jackson, a guard/forward, tallied 14.1 points in 37 games.
The two will now be teamed with point guard Baron Davis, who leads the Warriors with 20.9 points and 8.6 assists this season.
Jackson has had a number of off-the-court incidents in recent history. The most recent was in early October when he reportedly was hit by a car and fired a gun in the air at least five times outside a night club in Indianapolis. He was later charged with felony criminal recklessness and misdemeanor counts of battery and disorderly conduct. He was also one of the major culprits during the Pacers` infamous in-game fight with Pistons fans at the Palace two seasons ago.
Harrington was re-acquired by the Pacers this past August. After he left the Pacers for Atlanta following the 2003-04 season, he was traded back to Indiana this past offseason.
The two big names going to Indiana haven`t had as much success this season for the Warriors. Both forwards, Dunleavy averaged 11.4 points and Murphy 8.9 points and 6.7 rebounds for Golden State.
"We feel we made a pretty significant trade for the franchise that will be good for both teams," said Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird. "Trades are always painful because you give up players you like, but in this case, we think it`s a good trade that works for both teams. We feel the players we got will make a significant difference in the franchise."
Diogu averaged 7.2 points in 17 games, while McLeod had 5.3 points in 26 games.
The four players are expected to be in uniform for the Pacers on Saturday night when Indiana hosts the New York Knicks.
Jasikevicius, a reserve guard, averaged 7.4 points and three assists, while the forward Powell had 1.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in limited action over just seven games.
