Kraft Foods Split
Updated: August 4, 2011
The news was a surprise to the Champaign plant workers, but they're not worried about their jobs at this point.
The plant here focuses on the production of mostly food items like dressings, pasta and cheese.
Kraft says the split is a positive move. It will allow each company to focus on their priorities.
Here is what Kraft said about the Champaign plant: "There are no immediate changes to operations in Champaign, and Kraft Foods is operating business as usual."
The switch will take about a year to complete. The launch of the two companies will likely happen in 2012.
