Updated: August 24, 2010

crimestoppersURBANA - Someone's ransacking cars looking for global positioning systems or anything else quick and easy to take.  In Crime Watch tonight, almost 40 cases have been reported in Urbana so far this month.  Most of those cases have been in the southeast part of town with several cases on the U of I campus.  This has been a problem in both Urbana and Champaign in recent weeks.  GPS systems seem to be the item of choice, but other electronics have also been taken.  Police also say, windows were broken on a few of the cars.   With so many cases, police need your eyes and ears to help them catch the suspects.  If you have any information, call Champaign County Crimestoppers at 373-TIPS.  You can also give your tip on line.  Click here to give an on-line tip.  Either way,  you don't have to give your name or testify in court and a reward is offered.
