Reutter retires from speedskating

CHAMPAIGN - Katherine Reutter announced Tuesday she is retiring from competitive speedskating. The Champaign-native is a two-time Olympic medalist and a four-time national champion.
Reutter, 24, has gone two separate hip surgeries since 2010. She said in a statement her body can no longer hold up to the demands of training.
