MATTOON -- People crowded Pilson Auto Center, not for a car, but for a haircut.  It was all in support for a friend.

Whether is was just a trim, or a completely new hairstyle, some men were ready to cut it all off for Pam Beauvais.

"A large group of us decided we were going to shave our heads and show our support for her," said Tom Kenner, general manager at Pilson Auto Center.

"We'll just see how it looks when we're done," said Jerry Ferguson. He works with Pam at Mediacom.

Beauvais was diagnosed with breast cancer last month. Earlier this week she shaved off her hair.

"I felt like it was me being in control. I thought it would be easier for me than waking up and it was in my bed or falling in my food," said Beauvais.

Her husband, his co-workers at Pilson's and her co-workers at Mediacom weren't going to let her go through the process alone.

"The fact that they did that is just amazing to me," said Beauvais.

In less than 24 hours, the two companies teamed up to shave off their hair and everyone was ready to bare it all for their friend.

"It's all for Pam. It's all for a good cause," said Ferguson.

"It feels good. I haven't seen it yet but my wife says she still loves me so we're all good," said Kevin Richardson. He is a general manager at Pilson.

The giving doesn't stop with these haircuts. You can show your support through the rest of the month.

"We're going to donate starting tomorrow, $10 for every car we sell through the end of the month and $1 for every oil change to the Susan G. Komen foundation to support cancer," said Richardson.

It's just what Pam needs to get through a tough time.

"Cancer comes with a lot of things. It comes with anger, fear, resentment but it also comes with a lot of love and support," said Beauvais.
