HOOPESTON -- A vacant building is destroyed after a fire.

It started around 6:45pm at 225 East Main Street. Police say the place used to be a bar and restaurant.

The fire chief says it started when someone was doing roofing work near the second floor. But they're not sure what exactly ignited the fire. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.

Nobody was hurt. Crews from Hoopeston, Rossville, and Wellington helped put it out.
