CHAMPAIGN - Tim Beckman confirmed this week that linebacker Jonathan Brown will return to Illinois for his senior season.  Brown had a chance to leave after this year, but some injuries slowed his progress.

Brown led the team in tackles-for-loss and was second in sacks despite missing three games with an injury.  The Memphis-native was a preseason All-American heading into the year and will be one of just a couple returning starters on next year's defense.

He will be counted on to be a leader, and Beckman is glad to have him back.
