Advocates say it's not a surprise. They're happy to hear the court-ordered program is doing so well. It provides a variety of services, including therapy, substance abuse treatment and classes on life skills.
Talyn Carney, 17, is getting ready to graduate from the program. He was placed in it after getting into a bad fight at school. He says he didn't know what it was about when he first started, but says it's really made a big difference in his life. He plans to attend college once he obtains his GED.
"Redeploy Illinois" was launched back 2005. 29 counties are currently a part of the program. For more information, click here.
