CHAMPAIGN - Illinois junior Joseph Bertrand scored a game-high 15 points, including a personal 10-0 run midway through the 2nd half, to help carry Illinois past Georgia Tech 75-62 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Illinois trailed 54-50 before Bertrand drove strong to the basket, then hit a pair of three's back-to-back, then made a highlight reel drive to the hoop for two more. Bertrand's string of ten straight points gave Illinois a six point lead, and they never trailed again.
Brandon Paul scored 15 points for the Illini. Tyler Griffey added 14.
