CHAMPAIGN - The Illinois basketball team is off to a perfect 7-0 start, and today they were rewarded with a spot in the top 25 for the first time in almost a year.

Illinois is ranked 22nd in both the AP and Coaches polls, coming off a Maui Invitational championship and a one-point win yesterday over Gardner-Webb.

The Illini have only been challenged in two of their seven games - that overtime win over Hawaii earlier this month and yesterday's game against the Bulldogs.
