URBANA -- News of Hostess' closing is affecting workers here. Union members at Allied Waste facility are a part of the same pension plan as Hostess.

Right now it owes $11.8 million to that plan but won't have to pay since it's closing the doors. That's why Allied Waste management is urging its workers to try a different retirement plan.

Union members and management are currently negotiating a contract. Management is urging them to drop their pensions and pick up a 401K.
