Unity and Rochester advance to their state title games this week. They rolled to victory with running clock wins, showcasing the best on both sides of the ball.

Maroa-Forsyth will also advance and play in the 1A title game.

Scott Hamilton has taken his team to the title game three other times, but each time, he's come up short. He's hoping the team's optimism will help carry them over the hump. It also helps that the Rockets do not need to travel far, as the high school is only nine miles from Memorial Stadium in Champaign.

Derek Leonard's squad has three-peat on its mind. The Rockets from Rochester beat down Harrisburg in the semi-finals. Leonard praised his team after the win, and harped on their focus on every single game. The coach said it is easy for his team to get complacent because everyone outside the program expects them to win the title. But he said the team has kept it together and has the ingredients for another state title.
