CHAMPAIGN - Brandon Paul scored a team-high 20 points Friday night to lead Illinois to a 75-55 season-opening win over Colgate. The win was John Groce's first as Illinois head coach. Tracy Abrams added 13 points, and Tyler Griffey chipped in 10 as Illinois (1-0) put Colgate away with a 21-2 run late in the first half.
