Paul named to Wooden Award watch list

CHAMPAIGN - Illinois senior Brandon Paul was named to the watch list Thursday for the John Wooden Award; it is given out every year to the nation's top college basketball player.

Paul is one of 50 players across the nation on the list; nine of those are from the Big Ten.  Paul was a third-team All-Big Ten selection last year after averaging more than 14 points and 4 rebounds per game.
