Corey Lewis never gave up. He was finally rewarded for his dedication, getting into Illinois game vs. Ohio State. Lewis injured his knee in the spring of 2010, last appearing in a game in 2009. During his rehab, he reinjured his knee and went through a total of five surgeries.

Lewis said he hit the "down" part of his rehab after his third surgery but never considered giving up. Throughout the off season, the senior offensive lineman worked on the side of practice, getting in as much work as he could. In the classroom, he earned his undergraduate degree in communications and is working on his masters in sports administration.

Lewis said he is confident he will earn a sixth year of eligibility next season.
