Illini soccer downs Nebraska, volleyball gets swept by Huskers

The Illinois soccer and volleyball teams split it's twin-bill with Nebraska on Sunday. The Illini soccer team beat Nebraska 4-1, while the #4 Huskers downed Kevin Hambly's team in straight sets.

Illinois soccer got two goals from senior Shayla Mutz, while Niki Read and Vanessa DiBernardo added tallies as well. Freshman Nicole Breece also added an assist. The team will finish the regular season in Ann Arbor on Saturday before the Big Ten tournament in Bloomington, IN.

At Huff Hall, the Illini drop to 4-6 in Big Ten play. The Huskers earned their ninth straight conference win. Illinois' Jocelynn Birks led the team with 13 kills. Jennifer Beltran broke into the Big Ten Top 20 for career blocks (1,521). Illinois will travel to Wisconsin and Minnesota for their set of games next weekend.
