CHAMPAIGN - Illinois' new big man on campus is Coastal Carolina transfer Sam McLaurin, who should bring some valuable experience to Illinois' front court.

McLaurin is a fifth-year senior; he gets just one year at Illinois, and he plans to make it count.  McLaurin averaged 10 points and almost eight rebounds per game at Coastal Carolina last year.  He is only taking on-line classes at Illinois, which gives him that much more time to focus on hoops.
