CHAMPAIGN - The John Groce era officially begins this weekend.  The Illini start practice Friday as they get set for year one under a new head coach.

Wednesday was media day for the Illinois basketball team.  Groce has been able to size up his team over the last few months with occasional workouts allowed by the NCAA.  He says his team has worked exceptionally hard this offseason, but he doesn't know if he has the ball-handlers he needs to run his up-tempo offense just yet.
