RANTOUL - Unity, Monticello, and Dwight will not be joining the Sangamon Valley Conference.  The league's principals met today and denied their request to join the conference.  The schools did not receive the six votes needed for entry.

Unity and Monticello were both in search of a new conference after the Okaw Valley broke up.  No word yet on what their next move will be; although there is a possibility they could invite schools to join them and form their own conference.
