CHAMPAIGN - The Illinois football team is going back to basics.  Tim Beckman said Tuesday they are simplifying their offensive and defensive packages this week to make it easier for all the young players to execute.

Illinois (2-3) has lost 3 of it's last 4 games, and they have the toughest part of the schedule coming up next.  Some key mistakes have cost Illinois games.  The Illini have been flagged for the third-most penalties in the Big Ten, and they have turned the ball over more than any other team in the league.
