MACON - The nine schools leaving the Okaw Valley Conference met Tuesday, and they decide they will form their own new conference.  According to Meridian High School principal Jack Blickensderfer, the "consensus" of the schools involved was to move forward with a nine-team conference for two years starting in 2014.

Blickensderfer says the new conference will be called the Central Illinois Conference, and it will consist of Meridian, St. Teresa, Central A&M, Argenta-Oreana, Warrensburg-Latham, Tuscola, Shelbyville, Sullivan, and Clinton.
