FOXBORO, Mass. - Former Illinois tight end, and Bloomington-native, Michael Hoomanawanui has a new football home.  He signed with the New England Patriots today, according to his agent.  He had been recently released by the Rams.

Hoomanawanui was a fifth-round draft pick in 2010.  He caught 20 passes for 229 yards and 3 touchdowns over the last two seasons in St. Louis.  He is now the third former Illini on the Patriots' roster, joining Tavon Wilson and Brandon Lloyd.
