CHAMPAIGN - There is a good chance the Illinois defense will be without three starters in their season opener Saturday against Western Michigan.  Defensive end Justin Staples and safeties Supo Sanni and Steve Hull were all left off the depth chart today, meaning it is highly unlikely any will play.

We know Staples won't play; he is serving a suspension after an offseason DUI arrest.  Sanni and Hull are both injured.  Beckman won't elaborate on any injuries, nor would he completely rule them out - but if they don't play, it will quickly test the depth of this defense.
