CHAMPAIGN - Illinois head coach Tim Beckman called it an "unfortunate" situation - the news that recently hired offensive line coach Jim Bridge has left the program.  Bridge has reportedly accepted a job at Purdue after less than six weeks on the job at Illinois.

"We're going to get people that want to be here," Beckman said after the team's first spring practice Tuesday afternoon. "It's an unfortunate situation."

Bridge joined Illinois in January after leaving NC State.  He's expected to fill the offensive line coaching vacancy in West Lafayette.

"It's my fifth offensive line coach coming in," senior Corey Lewis said.  "It's a little frustrating, but what can you do?"

Bridge is the sixth assistant coach to leave Beckman's staff since the end of last season.
