CHAMPAIGN -- The UI Wheelchair Basketball Team took on an international rival Friday night. But, the teams seem more like old friends. both have a long history.

At least one athlete from the Canadian program has played with UI for the last 15-years. Even the team's head coach is Canadian.

But, that's not the only reason the blue-and-orange wanted to take on Team Canada. Three of the UI's current players are actually on the Canadian team as well, and played with them during the game. The UI won its first game 68-66.
