SPRINGFIELD -- Attorney General Lisa Madigan is bringing in some big bucks for the state. Her office collected more than $1 billion last year.

The money is from things like court settlements. Representatives say most of it goes back to the state's main budget and is dispersed to different programs and projects. Madigan's department has raked in nearly $9 billion since she took office.
