Bloomington, IN-- Illini soccer is one step away from repeating as Big Ten tournament champs, downing Penn State 1-0 on Friday in the Big Ten semi-finals.

Nicole Breece scored the lone goal for the Illini, after the Nittany Lions failed to clear the ball. Megan Pawloski performed a flip throw, sending a dangerous ball into the box. Penn State's defense could not clear it, as the ball bounced to Breece who gave the Illini the lead.

Illinois also gets its first ever win against a team ranked in the Top 3. Penn State is ranked third in the polls. Ironically, Penn State also lost to the Illini in the title game of the 2011 Big Ten Tournament.

The Orange and Blue square off against Ohio State Sunday morning at 11.
