Newcomer Davis "de-striped"

RANTOUL - After Thursday's Illinois football practice, Northern Illinois transfer Tommy Davis had the honor of being de-striped. "De-striping" is the removal of the white stripe from his helmet; it signifies that he is no longer a newcomer. It is a reward for working hard in camp, and one Beckman says Davis was the first to deserve.
