• Foster safe working environments for our employees, trade associates, and customers.
• Work to maintain stable employer-employee relationships.
• Promote the value of our highly trained workforce, our United States Department of Labor certified Apprenticeship and Training Program, and our mandatory continuing education program.
• Nurture public appreciation for the importance of professional plumbing and mechanical systems installation and those that provide it, as well as the importance of laws that safeguard the professional requirements for those entrusted with this responsibility.
• Promote our industry and the use of local people at all levels, improving interrelationships and the skills of all involved.
• Conduct advertising, public relations, and promotional activities for the good of the public and our Industry.
• Lobby our representatives for the continuance of multiple prime contracts and prevailing wage requirements for the State of Illinois.
• Work with governmental units, local unions, and the private sector to improve mechanical systems code and specifications, helping to insure balanced legislative and regulatory public policy.
• Support and assist construction training programs and continual improvement of Apprenticeship training standards and activities.
• Sponsor educational seminars that improve the business performance of our members and affiliates.
• Provide scholarships to local college students seeking careers in fields that support or enhance the construction process.
• Support the Champaign and Urbana Chambers of Commerce and Business Development.
• Work with community leaders to create and support programs for community betterment.
